Alberta Movers Reports on Slave Lake Fires
As the residents of Alberta pray for rain to fall, fire bans have been implemented in 35 parks and recreation areas in the province. The fire bans prohibit use of all wood, briquette and propane or natural gas fires, including those contained in designated fire facilities and portable fire pits. Gas and propane stoves and BBQs, when approved for cooking, are allowed.
Anyone moving in Alberta should check before traveling to make sure that roads are open due to six active fires burning in the northeast area, including one wildfire north of Fort McKay that is causing smoke in the Fort McMurray area. Alberta weather forecasts for the next several days anticipate ongoing clear skies and warm temperatures, extending the region's extreme fire hazard rating until further notice.
Many fires are centered around the Edmonton area and anyone moving Edmonton area should make sure that the roads are open and the area is safe. Alberta Movers will continue to monitor the situation.
