Canada General Election Information
Alberta Movers wants to help you be able to cast your vote in the General Election by sharing some information that makes it simpler to vote when you are planning a Calgary move.
If you are moving in Alberta, one of the last things on your mind may be the Canada General Election on May 2, 2011. There are several options to choose from so Calgary moving won't prevent you from casting your vote.
The options you have are:
Vote on election day
Vote at advance polls
Vote at your local Canada Elections office
Vote by mail
Hopefully, one of these options will prevent Alberta moving from interfering with your ability to cast your vote in the Canada General Election on May 2nd.
There are also early voting opportunities for students since the General election falls when many universities and colleges have dismissed for break. Students are moving from Calgary to Edmonton during that time and it makes it less likely for them to vote. To give more young people an incentive to vote, these early voting opportunities begin at advance polls on Friday, April 22, and continue Saturday, April 23 and Monday, April 25, 2011.
Students can also vote by mail or in person at any local Canada Elections office anytime before election day if they are registered before 6:00 pm on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Students who are moving in Alberta will need to decide which address they are using for their home address so they can vote in the appropriate electoral district.
